belt replacement

I was recently given an older 488 and the belt on the tape drive is broken. I ordered a new one from Tascam and opened the recorder up to try and fix it. My question is: How do you get the belt on? Do you have to remove the drum(?) from beneath the stem(?) or what. Forgive my improper names for the parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jay, I would suggest going to http://www.tascam.com and posting the same question on their PortaStudio message board...they are always quick to answer (I'd suggest emailing them, but they take much longer to respond with emails).
