Line IN
I am trying to record my guitar from a GT6 effects processor to the line in on my Soundblaster audigy2. I am using the ASIO Direct X duplex driver as my audio I/O at 44.1kHz.
I cant seem to get an input into Cubase VST, but I can get an input when I use a mic in the mic input. I can hear the guitar in my monitors, well only the left one since I am using a stereo lead and the guitar is mono. I have looked through all the menus and cant seem too work this problem out. Anyone have any ideas as to what might be wrong? |

After playing about with every I/O soudcard setting I managed to get an input into Cubase it only works at 48kHz, but that dont really matter as ive got it working at last with no latency.
But is there a way of boosting the input signal is Cubase VST, like a pre amp, so i can set my levels? I thought about using an aux in with a compressor plug-in (just to boost the level) and then sending it to the track i want to record onto, but there must be another way. Is there such a thing as a pre amp plug-in? |

You need a pre amp. You need to boost the signal before it gets to the soundcard. After it is recorded, you just turn up the volume of the track.
