drop c tuning
i think drop c tuning goes like this... correct me if i am wrong..
standard>drop D>down a whole step?
so e a d g b e
then d a d g b E
then a whole step down?
and while in drop c tuning, the lowest string played on the 7th fret should sound the same as the second to lowest string, just like drop D, correct?
just a little confused.

From my experience, when anyone says "dropped" it means you tune the low string down a full step. "Straight" tuning is tuned like EADGBE, but could also be DGCFAD(a whole step down, can also be a halfstep or whatever).
Drop D would be this: DADGBE
Straight D is: DGCFAD
Drop C (what I call it, I play in this tuning) is: CGCFAD
Drop C is basically tuning down from Straight D.
I could be wrong, but that's how I've been schooled in drop tunings.

yeah, i consider drop C to be drop D, then down 1 whole step.

well zed what you just agreed with is different than what he said ?
you said you think drop c should be drop d (d a g b d e) but one step down.
HE said drop c should be "straight" d (d a g b d d) but one step down.
i think you were right though. because all the strings should sound "in tune" together except the lowest one, which would be tuned down another step. He is suggesting the lowest and highest string are both down an extra step.

Yep, CGCFAD....
I play in that tuning all the time.

willhaven said the same thing, he said go to straight d, then drop the low d down to c, you said go to drop d, then drop everything one step, you still end up with the lowest string down 2 steps and every other string down 1 step regardless of what order you do it in.

you are looking too deep into this. Drop D tuning is where just the low E string is dropped down to D, the rest are in standard tuning. Drop C would be taking that tuning, then lowering each string one full step.
"Straight" D as he said, is just standard tuning dropped one whole step. he never said straight D is DAGBDD, he said it was DGCFAD. so to get to Drop C from there, you just tune the low D string down one step. it would be the same as going from Standard to Drop D.
anyway forget all that stuff, just remember that drop C is like drop D but each string tuned down 1 whole step. got it?

i use 10-46 on my others.

13-54 here. Unwound 3rd as well. I think the 3rd is a 24.
I just put a set of Ernie Ball "Not Even Slinkys" 12-56 on one of my Parkers. It should be better than having to buy packs of 12 singles from musicians friend every couple years.

Actually the smiley was because I was throwing a curveball into the allready overexplained topic.
Thanks for the replys. I asked the question because I have never played that way and it seems that you would get all kinds of fretbuzz if your action was set anywhere near to low.
