Layla 24 users...
Has anyone experimented with replacing the 15 foot serial cable (that connects the Layla24 to the PCI card) with a longer one? I would like to get a 25 foot cable...does anyone know of any harm in doing so? Any certain cables I should look for?

I have no expirience with the layla, but why not just buy an extension serial cable?

Because I am a lil' worried about latency issues and such...so I wanted to see if any one else tried this already and what the results were.

I'd contact Echo support - they can certainly tell you if a longer cable is a wise decision. If I had to take a technical guess, I'd say that the length they made the stock cable is prob. the max effective length. BUT, I've never tried it. Sorry for chiming in without an actual "real world" trial of this, but my first thought would be to contact support.
