Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and Digi 001

I have recently installed my Digidesign Digi 001 and Pro Tools 6.4 on my computer running windows XP. I also have an M-Audio Delta 1010LT installed. I can get my Digi 001 to work fine in Pro Tools but when I go to Control Panel in Windows, It will let me select it as the default playback and midi device but not the default recording device. The same thing happens when I go into Cool Edit Pro 2.0. I can record using the Digi 001's Midi Input. How can I get my Digi 001 to work with Cool Edit Pro 2.0? I have installed the latest drivers and what not. I also have a Sound Blaster Audigy card installed that I use for MIDI playback. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I could be way off base but I was under the impression that digidesign hardware only worked with pro tools?

I am 99.9% that this is correct, although with the new M-Powered M-Audio/Pro Tools thing, M-Audio hardware can run Pro tools, but I believe that is the only exception

They have drivers on their site that alow you to use 3rd party software, plus, if that was the case, wouldn't it not allow the Digi MIDI port to be used?

Never heard of this. Not saying it isn't true, just saying ive never heard of it. I suppose most people are buying DIGI hardware because they WANT to use pro tools.
