desperately need help with my Fostex VM200

I recently bought a used Fostex VM200 digital mixer. Whenever the power's on, it flashes:

"WARNING!
WRONG WORD-IN Clock!
Check System Clock Selection"

This happens when the Word-In switch is set to either "on" or "off". The machine lets me change the clock selection but when I press "enter" it doesn't take. If I go to a different screen and then back again, the clock selection reverts back to "Word44"!

Was I sold a busted unit?!? Or is there a way to fix the problem?

It's never worked right since you bought it? Maybe try to re-initialize it. I'm not at my mixer, but I think you access that option through the system button.
