Question MAGIX Music Studio 2004 deluxe vs. Cubase LE

I am gettin a firepod and i was just wondering if MAGIX Music Studio is better or worse than Cubase LE. I know that MaGIX is a lot less known but hopefully you all know something of it. Ive been using MAGIX some time before i decided to get the firepod and i am more comfortable with it, so if yall said that MAGIX is better than i will just use that.

Magix always used to be a kind of stripped down version of Logic. If you are comfortable using it I'd stick with it - on the other hand Cubase is more of an industry standard, depending on where you plan to go it could make a difference knowing how to use it (not a difficult transition). We are collaborating with a guy in France, and he just mails me Cubase projects on a CD, very easy, would be more difficult with a less mainstream programme. Though admittedly if he was using say Pro Tools or Logic my argument wouldn't hold much water

I use both programs.....I will say people tend to down Magix Music Studio cause it's a lot less cheaper, but honestly, it's a very good program and a steal.........A lot easier to work with.....But @ the same time, it's one of the first programs I ever used.......Cubase Le, I've had that program for about 4 months and I've still yet to even make a track on it....It's a learning curve for sure..........But as the other poster said, it's more industry standard......But if you get MMM and A soundforge or some other type of editing software program, it probably balances out................ It all depends on how familiar you are with program production..........But I swear by MMM and Soundforge 7.0...............

Cubase hands down. It'd be more beneficial for you to learn Cubase LE because that can transfer more easily to the higher-end versions which you will most likely want to upgrade to in the future. I'd suggest you make the decision by looking down the road. Are you wanting to eventually move into something a little more professional once you learn the basics of computer recording? If the answer is yes, then Cubase would be the way.

Thanks for the help. Ive decided to look on the MMM and soundforge 7.0 websites to see if they have a demo. And by the way, im actually not sure about the future...i mean i dont think im gonna be doin this forever becasue im just recording my band ( not really anybody else ). But i m getting more serious by researching and buying better equipment.
