Schecters guitars are the best bang for your buck out there right now. Feel safe in the purchase, if you decide to do it.

I've used an omen 6 for recording and it sounds, feels, and plays very nice. No complaints at all.

I played what I think was an Omen 6 at a guitar store last week. It was one of the lightest guitars I've ever played. The sound was real nice, and their attention to detail was amazing. I probably won't get it just for the weight, I'm a fan of heavier guitars. Other than the weight, it was probably one of the best guitars for you buck on the shelf. The one I played had a black mahogany body, with binding around both the body and neck. I believe the sales rep said it was a set neck, but they made it look like a through neck. The strings went through the body and were on a tune-o-matic bridge. The sound was pretty damn good, reminded me almost of a les paul, with an awesome sustain. It had quite a bit of bite to it with the tone knob turned up, so I had mine down to about 3/4 and backed off on the volume as well for enhanced dynamics. The neck felt really good in my hand, kind of thick, but not so much that it was difficult to play fast. I particularly enjoyed playing chords, as it had a warmer sound to me.

Well, there ya go, a personal review.

Forgive me, it was some form of the C1 that I played. The worksmanship still applies, and to me, it was top notch.

chaosscott is on a distinguished road
I have the Blue Omen 7 string (the older head stock version). It is one of my favorite guitars. I'll restate what's been said before: Schecter is the best bang for your buck, I own 3 Schecters.
