Should I get a Taylor 410?

Sitting here in my cubicle at work is a Taylor 410K that a co-worker brought in. This baby has a Koa top, back and sides and it’s beautiful. It’s in great shape and he will let it go for $550. It’s not the cut-away (I can always use my legend for lead work) but man it sounds good. I’m at the point where I’ve budgeted up to maybe $1800 but this is an instrument I can’t walk away from at this price. If I get this then I’ll have enough $$ to get my friends Guild 12 string.

Anyone here have a 410K?

Hmmm, then you better not tell her about me!

I'm in my studio recording this thing and it's real nice. Completely blows away my Legend...NO comparison. It does have a big low end to it but the more I play it I get the feel for it and can easily control it with playing dynamics. Nice sustain and the notes ring real clear with excellent overtones. I'm gonna get along with my new little girl just fine! The Koa wood is just beautiful.

I feel like I'm stealing this for $550.

I think Taylors without the dumb electronics are some of the most underrated guitars.

So you think Taylors are "underrated"? I agree, they are awesome!

I also believe that the older Fishman stereo blender is *not* stupid electronics, but a very good pickup system. I don't like the ES system either. My 710CE is simply the best acoustic I've ever played.-Richie

I am just a little partial to 100% acoustic guitars....especially since it seems like no one really plays Taylors without some kind of pickup system. Taylor and A/E almost go hand in hand.
