840 to CardDeluxe to Cool Edit Pro

I've run from the digital out on my 840 to the digital in on my CardDeluxe using a 6' Monster coaxial cable. Using Cool Edit Pro, I want to convert to .wav files in order to make CD's. When I try to record on CEP, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?
