Ahhhh!!! Back to Cubase

Hello Cubae Forum.

Its been about 4 years since I've been here much- ever since I sold my Cubase VST 32 to a friend and bought a Pro Tools LE rig. Now I work part time in a recording studio so I can't say that was a bad move, but when I saw a copy of Cubase SX come up for sale on the local Craigslist I had to jump on it. $250 later and I'm a Cubase user again and I have a pretty blue dongle sticking out of my keyboard's USB port.

Its been kinda fun getting out my old projects from 5 years ago and cringing.

Just thought I'd say "Hi."

Chris

Well, sort of. I'm still probably going to use PT for 99% of my work. I'm just so much more comfortable in it and its going to take a while to remember/relearn how to work quickly in Cubase.

But I want to get my feet wet with surround mixing and I'm getting more and more video work these days. So my choices are to... uh, upgrade to PT HD ($10,000)spend $1000 on the DV toolkit which still won't give me surround, or spend $250 for SX2 that gives me timecode features, OMF, fater than realtime bounce (ever bounce a friggin' 2 hour lecture?!), up to 5.1 surround and unlimited tracks?

Hmmm. Let's see. No, gimme a moment think here....

Thats why I sold my Digi 002. It is the dark side, too limited to me..... It's a no brainer!
