DonaldChang has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Nuendo Vs. Cubase

My friend said I'd get a higher quality mix out of SX3.Is this true?He said it because something like the sample rates are higher, and the algorithims are better

I dont know about that Nuendo is steinbergs flagship software, i own Cubase SX3 but I havent compared the two programs... I would say Nuendo is better for video.

Your friend is wrong. Neundo isn't better, it is just different because it offer different features. Personally though, I would buy Cubase SX3 unless Nuendo offers something that Cubase does not that you need. SX3 will save you a lot of money

Nuendo and Cubase SX 2/3... use the same audio engine, the difference is in features in handling things like video/multimedia, if you do that kind of work on top of audio, then go with Nuendo, otherwise, stick with Cubase.... there's no sonic differences between the two...........
