playback signal is being recorded with my live signal

playback signal is being recorded with my live signal. Using cakewalk Sonar 3. Audiotrak Inca 88 is the interface, and enabled live monitoring.

help any suggestions going crazy

Not familiar with your sound card, however this is usually the result of having the wrong input selected in the sound card's mixer. Assuming you are connected to the Line In port, your selection should be Line In. Not Stereo Mix or What U Hear or anything else.

(BTW, this assumes you are using headphones to record and not listening to the playback through speakers.
