With the 1010 you get spdif in/out and midi in/out along with your 8 analog ins/outs. And the 1010 will only use up one PCI slot.

I remember hearing that the converters in the 1010 are superior as well but don't quote me on that as I don't recall if it was even a reliable source. Possibly worth checkling with M Audio.

It'll also just be easier to set up and operate (just the one control panel, mixer etc.)

Well worth the extra $79 if you ask me.

Eet eez how you say? a no brainer?

the 1010 converters are supposed to be slighty better then the other delta's i think because of the dedicated power source

The 1010, but not the 1010LT and from what I understand neither the 44 or 66, has its converters in the breakout box. This gives the 1010 slightly better S/N ratio.

I have the 1010LT, and the noise is darn close to nothing anyway, so it's no biggie, though.

i have a delta 1010 (rackmount) and i have an audiophile 2496. the inputs on the 1010 are 1/4in balanced, and the inputs on the 2496 are RCA unbalanced. i do see a difference in noise floor between the two, with the 1010 being about 10dB quieter. of course, we're talkin levels around -76dB anyway, so they're both "quiet".

the converters in the 1010 do sound better to me.

i would go for the rackmount 1010 over any of the other options listed (44, 66 or 1010LT), simply b/c the inputs are 1) in a rackmount box and not dangling out the back of the computer and 2) the inputs are balanced.

i need to get me another 1010, so if anyone wants to let one go cheap.....

cheers,
wade
