DMP3- same as it used to be?

Can anyone tell me, possibly someone who has bought a newer DMP3 and opened it up, if the DMP3 still uses the INA163 Burr Brown chip or have they changed its components over time??

No one has one of these that they want to open up and help us out? I don't think M-Audio likes answering questions about the DMP3 because on their contact sheet they have a list of products from which you're supposed to choose (the item you have the inquiry about) and the DMP3 isn't even an option! So can some one help us out here?

Why the hell would M-audio go through all the trouble re-designing their mic pre around an entirely different chip?

There's really only two or three instrument amps being made right now. And luckily, they're all good, and they're roughly the same price. It would make zero sense for them to suddenly re-design an existing product like that. Unless there's some sort of weird rumor floating around, I don't understand why you need people to open up their stuff and report back to you what's in it.

Well I certaintly wasn't aware of that information, and it is helpful, but in the future I'd appreciate it if you didn't talk down to me. I'm sure you asked some obvious questions from time to time too.

Hey, I'm just a horse. You led me right to the water ... and I drank.

Both. Because I'm actually a horse's ass.

You led me right to that one, too. Hey, I'll drink all day. I'm a thirsty camper.

Glad we cleared that up. Hee haw!

I'd check for you but I am a royal ass: lent my DMP-3 to a friend, foolishly had him return it to me, delivering it to me at a bar...on my birthday! I believe it's still in the back of a cab . Great night all in all but not worth losing the DMP3. Haven't had a chance ($$) to replace it yet but I will.

The royal ass,
cuzme

Ouch, that's an adventurous yet unfortunate story! How did you like the DMP3 while you had it?

Honestly, that part of the story is more painful:

I didn't have my home studio set up just yet (as I had just moved) and my friend borrowed it right out of the box! He used it in both of our interests as I play and perform with him a lot and it was for some promotional hee haw. He loved it and I was VERY exited to simply get familiar with it.

I have my first session scheduled for mid July at my crib and hope to have it replaced by then...but who knows, times are a bit tight this summer $$.
Oh the agony.

But I have to laugh...life is too short to lament.

I'm an idiot. WAS an idiot; nothing like that is likely to happen to me again...with my excessive paranoia thanks to the incident.

well, I hope you get a new one soon. I just bought one used from JasonB on the board here and I can't wait to hear it in action, I hope it lives up to its hype!
