Here is sample of DMP3

Someone in a thread asked for a sample of the DMP3. I was messing around tonight, tired after a long day and put my AT-3035 in front of my little Vox ADVT15 valtronix amp and used the DMp3 for both guitars and also Bass direct in. The drums are a simple pattern in the Zoom 1608 16 track recorder. Sounds like crap probably, but the DMP3 is a clean pre. This is just me noodling when tired. I get in these moods, I'm sure you guys do to. No effects other than the vox amp, I used no effects on the zoom 1608, but did run it through the mastering effects after I recorded it. Also used the Wavs maximizer plugg too, which may have made it clip. here is the link.

Thanks, but I was still unhappy with it even for doodling around, and I decided to send my 1608 recorder back to AMS for return. The drum machine on that thing has awesome capabilities, but the sounds are simply not very good, or the cymbols I should say. I also was not sure I was happy with the quality of the 16 bit signal and converters. I now will be seeking advice on what I should get to record on. I guess I will be going with computer recording, and I only need probably two to four inputs. I thing I will have about a thousand bucks to play with, and I need an effects unit too, and may a channel strip. I hate pluggin reverbs and effects, so I am thinking about the TC Electronic M300 effects for $199, maybe a Tampa, even though I already have a DMP3, but I need a compressor, and all this stuff has to be sold by AMS, since I will have store credit. I gues I could go for a Firebox firewire Presonus, the M300, and maybe the Tampa, or something colored like a Meek 6Q, or something colored. Maybe a compressor by itself. I will need a lot of opinions.

Only listened once, but my initial impression was that there was a real drummer. I thought it sounded very good, actually - crisp, but not artificial sounding. Nice playing indeed, very slick.

Jeff, I will be buying a Kurzweil Rumor for my AD/DA conversion and effects. This box is getting awesome reviews from everybody. The converters are supposed to be at least as good as the RME or Lynx stuff and the verbs are the same sample set as the KSP8.

They are even sold at Mercenary. That should tell you something. I will be going S/PDIF I/O through an EMU 1212m card.

Here's Steve Langer's review of the Kurzie:

So in order to use the convertors for tracking you would have to put some effect on every track is that correct??

no you don't have to put an effect on every track,
i assume you can choose something like "mix = 0%"
at least thats what i do when i want to use my tc triple c or even my lexicon alex as a AD converter to record,
don't use the fx, use the spdif out, thats it

Nah- bypass the effects and just use the box as a convertor.

Nice groove, clean and present sound .... Do you ever do vocals with the AT3035?

Hi Thanks for the comments about my guitar playing, but I was just doodling latre at night. That's why no chord changes or anything. I was tired and wanted to get in the hypnotic groove.

Yeah, the 3035 is good for anything because it is very quiet and true. It's a very accurate Mic.

Yeah, you can bypass the effects and eq. But the verbs are supposed to be superb, which is another reason I'm buying it.
