Why isn't my keyboard working?

I got a casio Keyboard and pluged it in via a midi to usb Connection. I have a Windows XP Computer but I don't think it has high speed usb Ports. This may be the problem because the ligt's power dims and stregthnes. However it does recognize the prot in the programs. Once I play a key though in any of the programs, it does not register on the computer though. If someone can help me out that would be much appreciaceted. I tried using the keyboard in acid, cakewalk 5.0, Logic, and other applications and it doens't register in any.

First of all, most USB interfaces work with USB 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0 so we can rule that out as a problem.

The problem I can see is that if you can afford all that software you wouldn't be asking such basic questions. That leads me to believe that you are using cracked copies of the programs you listed.

You need to go away because I'm pretty sure no one here who knows their shit is going to want to offer you any advice.

Hahaha, Nah it's not pirated. I used to be a dj so I spent 500$ on Acid so I can mix. Have released a mix tape. Then I Spent 1200 on Cakewalk becasue My friend told me that is the best software to have for a musician. I had to wait 3 years to get it. With my birthday money and My job, I was eventually able to get it, and my cousin has Logic, So I tried that program too. I wish it was pirated, It would have been much cheaper but it's illegal as well. The other programs I tried it on were demo programs I downloaded.

And you don't consider the copy of Logic you got from your cousin to be a pirated copy?

I don't know how to use it and delted it off my ocmputer becasue the file was too big. But tried it in that program. So To you who says is that illegal, My response is No. Why is it illegal. Why don't you jsut answer the questions and help me out instead of being a stickler.

Anyways, if we have grown mature musicians in here who understand a struggle answer this mans questions....I have the same problem and I bought my software (Cubase LE), but I never look down on those who dont, why are people so worried about it.....

Okay, maybe I'm not familar wit the term in it's entirerty, but how do you know his/her copy is pirated.......Or he didnt have a hook up on the street?????????? How is that stealing.......I dunno, I know all equipment comes from hard work on my behalf and nobody has stolen anything from me......Now if somebody has given me something free, HEY, cant hate me for that.....But I'm not too certain about what "pirated" or "cracked" means..............But I notice in every thread I go to, some one is quick to use the P word or Cracked when they dont even know how a person aquired their copy..................I'm accused of havin a cracked copy........... matter of fact, the dumbass is on this thread as I speak, but how does he/she know about me?????? Yes. You are missing a very important component of the software chain known as 'the manual'. You get one when you pay for software. You don't if you steal, pirate, use a 'cracked' copy, use 'warez', and so on. We can pretty much tell from the questions whether or not you are using illegal software.

Off top, lemme school your dumbass one more time.......I never asked for the manual for Cubase.......I dont have the manual for PSR 400......Ask anybody whose purchase those in the past few years, knows a manaul is hard to come by......Second, I've done a lotta research and from what I understand, the PSR isnt the best Midi Keyboard Controller..............This was my last straw coming here............

Next, what does it matter if someone cracked Cubase, they are a corportation put here to get over on you anyways...... I bought mine, my issue is the Keyboard....And even if I didnt buy mines or anybody didnt, how you know they dont buy anything else?????........I coulda got my cubase for free................You never know...........
