Midi In Cubase Driving Me Crazy!!!
This is a midi question and I did see the MIDI MANIA forum, but it's related to Cubase SX so I decided to ask my question here. Yes, I am new to the computer based recording world, but am learning fast, thanks to a seasoned mentor and you guys here @ BBS Home Recording.
Im in Cubase SX using VST's, so I use one on lets say the first MIDI Channel I added to the project. I'm able to record it just fine and dandy no problems. I'm ready to move on to add some more sounds, add another MIDI track, select my VST, and I'm off right? Wrong! FOr some reason as I progress in the production of the music (making the beat) I cant stop controlling atleast one of the other MIDI tracks. So when I'm on track 5 putting in some more MIDI sounds, Im also still geting the sounds of track 3 over the top of the sounds I want to insert on track 5. I pray to god this makes sense to you guys, and with all the knowledge in this place Im sure it will. Help a brotha out!! As I said previously, I am new and learning fast (in my opinion), on the other hand when I have issues I hope you dont mind me turning to BBS. Thats real talk...... WHAT WOULD LIFE BE WITHOUT MUSIC? I MEAN REALLY!!! BRN |

maybe the channels are set to the same..... there are 16 channels available on midi, make sure they're all different numbers

Is track 3 still selected in the project window??? Even if you create a new part on a new track, and open the editor, it as well as any external keyboards will respond to the track selected in the project window.
And quit it with that damn tiny ass blue writing over an already blue background ![]()

you gotta make sure that the midi track is assigned to the right vsti,
or turn off the record enable switch on the tracks you don't want to record.
