What sequencing software should I use for my Roland TD-10

Alrighty folks,

I have the Roland V-Drums with the TD-10 Module. I record into the sequencer on the TD-10, but it has very little editing capabilities. Oh, and yes, I want to do this so I can cheat ;p

So, lets say I use the TD-10 for as much as I can (I record the drums, set the time signature, and copy and paste al the bars together to make a complete song), but then I want to be able to tweak the quantizing on individual tracks, and maybe a few other things that will be useful that I just don't know about yet!

First question...is there any freeware that I can do this with?

Second question....Lets say I have a song thats 48 bars long. If I upload the midi file from the TD-10 to the sequencing software, will I be able to look at 48 individual bars, or will it mesh everything together?

Well, I reckon that's about it for now. Thank you so much for your expertise!

Chris

It will be 48 bars if you transfer the MIDI file, or if you record the MIDI data coming from the TD-10 and let it be the clock that the software uses.

There's an interesting Freeware Midi Sequencer called MIDI Locator (I think the Version I messed with was V1.11), however I do not know if this will meet your wishes. Worth a try, its free

I record into Jazz++ from my TD10 all the time... I've never tinkered with the TD10's onboard sequencer, but I'm sure if you just hit 'Play' on any samples you have, Jazz will do just fine for you. And it's also free.

Jazz++ Midi Sequencer

Hope this helps!
