now i've heard 2 people say that the drum sounds that come with drumagog suck.

i don't know what they/you're hearing, but the purrrrrfect kick or whatever it's called is pretty badass sounding........if it doesn't have quite enough low end for you, you can add it. and the tama kick that comes with the new version of drumagog is damn beefy.

i can get pretty decent drum sounds these days and i think that those sounds that come with drumagog are pretty awesome.

i dunno. i just don't understand how most homerecording enthusiasts can really believe that those drum sounds aren't good enough for them.

drum sounds not good enough?

Granted, the drum sounds that come with drumagog probably aren't good enough for everyone.. but, everybody has their own idea of what the ideal drum should sound like.. My buddy wants his kit to sound just like the drums in metallica. I got to play with drumagog recently, to salvage a poorly recorded drum kit. the kick drum sounded like a dull thud (maybe some kind of synthesized kick drum?), almost as if the guy who recorded the drummer stuck the mic INSIDE of the padding that's in the kick drum. I tried out drumagog to salvage the track, with satisfactory results. I used the provided PRockKick.gog file, and while I'd rather a different sound out of the kick, the sound that I achieved with drumagog not only brings life back to the kick, but sounds good in the mix with the rest of the drums, guitars, bass, and vocals.
