The less I know.

I've got your back on that one.
As they say, "The devil's in the details"...that challenge pushes me harder.
If this were easy, everyone would be doing it.
Even Don Henley wrote : "The more I know, the less I understand..."

ok...ok...sorry...enough of the clichés.

The best answer is to just start recording and experimenting. It can get confusing reading about techniques and whatnot. Sometimes just discovering what works best for you, your room, your gear is the best thing. And this just takes time and experience.

the messed up thing is...

the more i learn, the less i know, but...

the better i get, the more people ask out of me.

when i was much worse at this, it was a lot easier.

The way I say it is...The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know. The good thing about it is, as long as we are learning, we are not stagnating.

Go with your gut instinct as to whever your music or recordings or productions are great or not. If you can't trust your own judgement then that is the best thing to brush up on rather than actually reading up loads and loads of text about how to "be better".
