first song....

Called 'visionaries and MTV' Not the first i've recorded, but first i've ever posted. It's kinda strange pop in the early REM vein. The band is just me, recorded last summer. Let me know what you think.

Hi

First, you should make your song available for non-members, not everybody is a member at NoWhereRadio.

I like the song. I like the interaction between the acoustic guitar and the 2 lead guitars. The lead vocal could be more distinct. Try to cut it a little in the low frequencies or a slight boost in the mid (around 1k).

Nice work.

/Jack Real.

Thanks for the kind words Jack. The vocals took ages to get anywhere near the mix and i had to sing very quiet but i'll perhaps try tweaking again.

What have i forgotton re- nowhere radio membership?

Cheers

Hi

Edit the song as administrator and check on "Download available for non-members". Depending on the set-up, if they are not available for download, people can not play them in Hi-Fi or Low-Fi.

Note: log-out and try to listen to you song as non-member to verify that it's available to everybody.

/Jack Real.

Hi Tim, try this link in your browser. You definately don't need to be a N. radio member to listen.

had a couple of listens to it, first the lofi at 28kbps, then the 128....

the way i see it, it's pretty much complete, arrangment wise.... maybe the vocal could benefit from another mic?, they sound ok to me here though, reminded me of Mascis from Dinosaur Jr...

personally i would have probably tried another drum kit... even if they're not very prominent in the sound picture, different drum sounds would have a dramatic effect on the whole thing, for better or for worse...

to me, this is a kind of music that does best in a heap, a whole lot of tracks in a row.... don't know what your aim is, but it's more of a background type of music to me, it's not very "energetic" or dynamic.... it doesn't seem to demand attention. It's like a lullaby

dynamic?

No, agreed, it's very 'drifty' and doesn't grab you unless you wanna be grabbed. I find Using a drum machine and not being able to drum a tad restrictive too. That said, even if i could the song would still have had a none invasive feel to it. Thats the way it started out, the way it finished. Probably pretty tame and boring to most ears.

My fav feed back so far has been like 'i feel like i'm dreaming about midgets and monkeys living together in peace and harmony' ha ha!

Thanks for yours MM

Mac

Well I can't download the song and when I try to play it, my Media Player comes on and says it doesn't have the codecs needed. And I'm not going around looking for codecs to play the song.

That's exactly what I got too, Space. Usually don't have any problems with Nowhere Radio.

Madmush, anything special you did to get it to play?

Tim

Actually Jack told you first thing.

Now I've heard your song.
GREAT sound. I like your guitars filling the space that way.
Feedback:?
I think there is too much verb on the vox. Your WAAY out there.
IMO the EQ needs a little more meat and less way up top.

Great Job on the song! I liked it alot, nicely done!
