Clicking, Popping, CLARITY...

Its been awhile since i got on here, anyways, i have a voicemaster pro preamp, a $100 MXL condenser mic. Emu 1212m audio card. I record through a computer, 2.7 gh, 256ddr, 40 gig hd. I use cool edit. Easy to use, i like it. BUT anyways, when i record its hard for me to control the clicking. I mean, i can take Harmonics off, BUT i love using that on my preamp. Makes the voice more insync. I dont know if its the compression, padding, or what. Voice seems fine, its just some parts click. NOT BAD, it doesn't hit the RED, Or when i play the song the speakers dont click. ITs like when i listen i can notice it. AM i know it could be CLEANER. Help Please...

MASTERING, i guess my friend goes to the studio and he was tellin me i need to get my music mastered for HIGH QUALITY clarity. IS he right. Is there a processor i can buy to make my music more clear.

Take a listen to one of my latest songs and tell me what chu think, also notice the clicks. and please tell me what i can do...

I think that your clicking sound is your computer. The audio card, video card or your audio buffer in your DAW software is too small. Adjust and update your device drivers.

darnold will become famous soon enough
I hear it. I dont think it has anything to do with your soundcard. It sounds like oversaturation or overcompression to me. Sounds like its being driven really hard, makes all those little things that are generally subtle on a voice stand out.

Same thing happens if you run your voice through a guitar amp. Anything saturated really.

sounds like its hyping the high end a lot... to the point of distorting.

256 MB of memory is kind'a the bare min that you can get away with. But, first try troubleshooting your gain scheduling in your soundchain. Digital clipping will sound clicky for sure.
