Nearfield monitors

I have a question about these....
ok, I know nearfield monitors (behringer 2030's) sound better with more power into them. My question is when you dont play them loud are you doing any harm to them?

Be careful about listening volume. 80-85dB is generally considered to be the best volume to use when mixing music, as most people's hearing is flattest across frequencies at that point. Listening louder than that for extended periods will eventually cause hearing loss. You can get a sound pressure meter at Radio Shack for about $50 that will give you some idea of how loud your monitors are in your room.
