Question Hd24 Question - Track Bad???

I need some help. My HD24 was working fine, then all of a sudden at a recording session, Channel 12 (the kick drum input channel) on the HD24 will not show any incoming signal from the Direct Out of the Mackie Board for that channel.

All the other channels on the HD24 work and record fine, but the kick drum on channel 12 will not show or record signal. (and yes its armed to record when trying this).

I have great signal on that channel to the board and into the PA.

I switched channel with other signal sending channels and still nothing on channel 12>?>?

I switched the cable from the Mackie DI to the Input of the HD24 with a brand new 1/4" cable and still nothing>?>?

Could it be that just this one channel went bad?? The orange record mode led flashes like the rest of the channels and the first blue led is lit like the rest, in record armed mode, but thats all it does>?

Anyone have any ideas? Are there internal fuses or something that could have tripped for just that channel?

Also, where do you send Alesis products for good reliable repairs?

Thanks and peace
AJ

Sounds like a bad jack on that channel. Try hooking up a digital input to that channel to rule out some of the rest of the circuit. If it's just the jack, check the solder joints on the jack, and the mechanics of the jack itself.

If it's not the jack, then it might be time to do the XR upgrade . . . might not be more expensive than an out-of-warranty repair.
