Roland VS1880 Automix - Home Recording

I have finished the tracks on my first project using the VS1880. Now I am ready to mix down - preferrably using automix. I have read the instructions and have tried to follow the tutorial, but have had no success. I'm tempted to give up and just record out to something else.

Is there anybody out there with experience using this beast?
