the choice i made: amp modeler over new soundcard. mmm?

so i just spent hard WON money ( ) on a used amp modeller, a j-station on ebay... over updating my soundcard.

currently, i'm using a SBLive! [FFEO], yes i know its not for recording but im actually getting good results.

so my bass lines were very muddy... and i figured this amp modeller would do the trick. and my guitar lines needed more life in them.

i record lining out from my HORRID amplifier, and again, i figured the j-station would really upgrade my guitar sound.

oppinions on this?

thanks bros

your signal chain is probably the most important part of the recording process.....

you may think you get good results from your SB but, I doubt very much you would think so if you had a better pro-sumer card.

I do agree on one thing.....line out from you amp to line in on an SB must sound really shitty....you are much better off going line out from the j station to the SB....after all...it is an amp modeler....

use the clean channel for your bass....no effects...dry....you'll get better results.
