12 Volt Halogen track lighting

Is there anything to worry about with using the 12 volt halogen lighting in a studio? I bought a 9' track with 6 lights. Each light is 20 watts and the transformer can handle 150 watts. It's similar to this set , but has the dark blue shades.

I bought this without asking expert opinion; haven't installed them yet, though. I knew that fluorescent lighting generates a buzz that can be heard around audio equipment and have transitioned from CRT to LCD for that reason as well. What about halogen track lighting?

Nothing wrong with low voltage lighting, except for the transformer itself. It will generate a magnetic field and you might have to locate it away from your audio lines to avoid EMI-based hum.

Though low voltage lighting generally isn't dimmable, because transformers dislike dimmers. I'd have purchased 120V halogen lighting, which is by far cheaper and can attach to any 120V circuit, and you can use a dimmer. In fact, I have a lot of this stuff in my studio.

Also, halogen lights get pretty hot pretty quick and have a tendancy to make a bit of noise while its doin it (audible crackles an pops). turn your lights on a few minutes before you start trackin and you shouldnt have a prob.

i purchased a halogen track with a dimmer switch. It produces a higher pitch buzz when dimmed, reduced buzz when all the way up and none when off (except for a low buzz, but that's probably coming somewhere in the audio chain.. i think...) Any suggestions?
