"Antone" should be "anyone"....
Or are they "vapor-ware". I am getting skeptical because I have a pair on backorder at American Musical, and they just pushed that date back from "10 days" to "end of September." Also, I never hear anyone talk about them, even though their specs are incredible.
Maybe I should go Mackie or JBL ! |

As you probably know, the Mackies are double the price, but I REALLY like mine. I've got a friend who's waiting for a pair of Behringer's but no dice. Who knows when they'll be in?! I really want to compare the Behringers to the Mackies head to head.
I've heard that if you use Behringer gear on a daily basis, you'll get a rabid craving for a big bowl of fried rice topped with sauerkraut |

This is what I suspected. It makes me very skeptical of the Behringer specs if they can't deliver any ACTUAL units. I think I can get the Mackies locally for about $1000. Any other suggestions ?
(I know there are lots of good sounding monitors, but I have other reasons for wanting units that have been tested an verified as "flat" in a testing chamber, such as the alleged Behringers, Mackies, or JBL LSR series." |

I can't beleive you and others are still waiting for the Behringer speakers. I had ordered them also from AMS and was told since May that they would be in within 2 weeks. After waiting nearly two months I ordered Event 20/20p's. They sound killer! The specs do look good but who knows what they sound like if they are nonexistant?

I picked up a pair of the 2031's when they came out. I've been using them pretty regularly and I think they sound fantastic. They have excellent clarity and response and can really be pushed hard before the onboard limiter kicks in. The only thing I can complain about is the following:
I use them direct with no EQ. When in use as a near field, the low frequency response does tend to drop about 6 db(naturally), especially around 100hz. However, the 8.75 woofer really shouldn't be expected to reproduce a full round low end. So I guess I recommend running an RTA and EQing to your room. But overall, they're great for the dough.. |
