MMC and MTC for Fostex HDRs (D-160, VR880)

I had in the past been trying to MIDI-sync or MIDI-control various Fostex recorders, never with any success.

Here's what I tried:

* syncing two VR880
* controlling a VR880 from a Behringer DX3216
* controlling a D160 from a Behringer DX3216

I always followed the instructions in the manual - without any succes. What actually worked was syncing Nuendo to a VR880.

Could anyone experienced with these units give me a step-by-step description how to accomplish these tasks? The interesting points (in decreasing priority):

1. syncing one or two VR880 to a D160
2. controlling a D160 from the DDX3216
3. controlling a D160 and the VR880s from the DDX3216

Thanks,

Rainer

sync

You may need a sync box, like the data sync2 by JL cooper I use one with a old D-90,adat XT20, and Nuendos.
