Bass Pedals

What are the best bass drum pedals? DW? Sonor Giant Step? Iron CObra?

many good ones!

Til- I own Iron Cobras (double pedal), Sonor, Pearl, DW, Yamaha, Tama, Mapex, and Ludwig pedals -- they ALL do the job well. I'm sure the pedal that comes with your Sonor's will also do the job well.

You really need to try them all out to see what fits your playing style, foot size, etc. many pedals nowadays like the Iron Cobras are completely adjustable to fit any players needs.

If you really want to know what the BEST pedal is:

Ludwig's Speed King pedal, circa 60s-70s (also known as the "Squeak" King, for obvious reasons) is, or was, the best.

Cheers, Rez

Pearl Eliminator with the red cam. Fastest i've played.

I've seen people play much faster on Axis than me. I dont like them as im a chain guy.
The guy i saw you used them used to play speedkings. So i guess its down to taste... and what you play now.

If you cant be assed to adjust the eliminators, or you dont know enough to be able to do it properly just go for iron cobras.

I know two guys right now that are using those and both are having problems with the cams on their pedals coming off while they are playing.
The idea behind the removable cams is good, but the actual product doesn't quite live up to the idea - which is a Shame, because I loved Pearls hardware - it was fairly light and strong. I haven't looked at their stands since they changed them, but I'm going to be going with a Pearl Icon Rack system.

I just don't think plastic should be at the heart of a Kick pedal.

Red face

Find what feels good to you. I currently run a DW 7000 double pedal on my Fibes kit and and old Tama heavy duty chain drive pedal on my Yamaha practice kit.
