I tried to get his consent, but he came back with the lamest of excuses, like fear of telemarketers and foul weather.

Timothy Lawler by miles and miles... everyone else just tryed to play as many notes as quickly as they could... except for Rokket of course who was at least trying to be experimental... he's invented a whole new scale!

At this very moment I'm working on liner notes for the inevitable Rumble CD release. Only a matter of time before this ground-breaking opus is picked up by a maj label.

What I'm waiting to see is the appearance and voting by Insterxx-fay, Terxfinsx, Xretsnifx, xfinster1x, etc as chris' obsessive-emulation-to-the-point-of-being-clones fans begin to show up.

My vote

First of all I couldn't listen to all of them because I don't even bother with soundclick and their "YOU GOTTA SIGN UP AND BECOME A MEMBER TO EVEN LISTEN TO SONGS HERE!"

That being said, Timothy Lawler gets my vote. Damned nice soloing there!

I voted for Rokket because his solo has a John Scofield feel to it. A drunk John Scofield, but him none the less.

I re-listened to the solos, and man that was cool. After much thought, I had to vote for Mr. Lawler. Anybody who could take that cheesy demo, and turn it into a song, is probably dangerous enough to find my house and haunt me if I vote for myself. Just way cool, Timothy, way cool.

(You'll stop calling now, won't you?)

The true artists will be those who receive no votes and don't care. Maybe you have to be a Kafka fan to agree.

I had my marketing and legal guys look over the recent changes in Rumble strategy. Firstly, I've been advised that we've committed a classic marketing error. Our original Let's Get Ready to Rumble thread delivered a strong ROI at over 2500 views and 220 replies with a investment of only 8 solos. Instead of leveraging that market base it's been significantly diluted by both a branding and location change. Bottom line is... our brand equity is shot to hell. WHAT WERE WE THINKING???? Secondly, by departing from our original operational charter (determination by argument) we are exposed re breach of contract, as mere participation in the Rumble signified acceptance of the conditions of mshilarious' implied contract. Advise that you seek legal counsel immediately.

My consultants suggested we diversify, by having the original Rumble thread, the rumble poll, and perhaps we should expand into an argument thread, that starts with just the eight solos and is all about arguing. Then have a poll winner and an argument winner, and the original still does well because it's been linked to from the subsidiaries.

I spoke with an attorney, and after hearing my "solo" he started sobbing, and refered me to legal aid.

They said they don't represent losers. I think I am screwed. Anyone see the bus?

My lawyer asked me to step into his office. It turned out to be the main lobby. I took the hint...

But I did get one vote, so I am going to go away happy. At least until the next time I post a song...

I'm thinking this was a typo. Dogman must have meant "hunt", not "haunt". As in, "He'd hunt me down like the Dogman I am."

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Oh, and in the unlikely event that I win the contest what I want as my prize is a head shot photo of each of the contestants. That way I can watch the final scene of Crossroads over and over, alternately scotch taping the face of xfinsterx, beagle, ocnor, and the rest over Steve Vai’s face on screen, with my face scotch taped over Ralph Macchio’s.

Just a thought.

Tim
