Read about a producer who likes the PMC monitor, looked it up, it's over $3,000! each

so I guess I won't be getting them. Anyone use them?

Mark E DeSade is on a distinguished road
I use PMC monitors (see http://www.pmcloudspeaker.com/index2.html). They are hands down the most impressive monitors I have ever used. I sold my Genelec 1031s and Tannoy system 12s and replaced them with the IB-1s. Yes, they can be very expensive, but they also make some like the DB1s that are around $900/pr (see http://www.atlasproaudio.com/pmc.html). They are all transmission line design speakers and have extremely accurate response and low-end that is unbelieveable. Even the smallest PMC would likely seriously outperform something like the Genelec 1032a or the Meyer HD-1. Give them a listen if you can, you won't want anything else.

The new B&W 802's are $6k... Each...

The standard "stack" of PMC's is probably around $30k.

Nice loudspeakers don't come cheap.

I was reading about a producer who had a 'home' studio and he liked them b/c they had very accurate bass response. So I decided to look them up since I hadn't heard of them before, even here.

Some of those guys who call it a home studio just call it that b/c it's in their home but it's quite pro, it seems.
