I just got myself some new drum heads

I have a Sonor 2003 4 piece drumset
http://www.peelerdrumcenter.com/imag...003Natural.JPG

Batter heads

Evans G1 Coated- Tom
Evans G1 Coated- Floor tom
Aquarian Superkick II- Bass Drum
Ambassador Coated- Snare

Bottom heads- stock, but still made by remo

This was all I could afford as far as buying new heads for recording. Do you think I can still get a good sound out of it, even though the bottom heads are stock?

Sure. You should be able to get a good sound. I've got the superkick II and think it sounds great. I also put a Regulator on reso kick. Anyway, yeah, should sound just fine.
But I'm no pro...FWIW...............
Peace

Awesome. With the superkick II, do you think I still need a pillow in the kick?

The stock botom heads should be fine. The top heads are much more important.

As for the pillow in the kick, that's up to you. Personally, I've started using two small shop towels taped to the shell just barely in contact with each head. I'm really liking the low end.

Experiment.

I like the combination of the Remo Muff'l tray and a small pillow in my kick.
