Build one yourself. Get a bare case from Granite Digital (they're the best, IMHO), buy a plain old parallel ATA hard drive (not serial ATA, unless they've started making cases that support that while I wasn't looking). Of course, you could get a case from pretty much anybody, but you specifically asked for the best. I'm not sure there's much difference, really, except that Granite Digital tends to be really good about making firmware updates available for their cases when bugs are found.

Once you get the pieces, all you have to do is pretty much plug in the power connector (it only fits one way) and the ATA cable (again, only goes in one way; line up the bump on the outside of the cable with the notch in the hard drive connector, gently push straight in), mount the drive to the case using the screws that come with the drive, then close the case and screw in any case screws. Plug in the power cord and the firewire cord.

What I've done is just buy hard drive's on sale then buy an firewire ide case from newegg and plug them in. I think I have a firewire 250gb for around 30 for the case and maybe 50 for the hard drive(thanksgiving sale..).
