Drumhead quiz

What drumheads do you use?

What heads does your favorite drummer use?

What is the worst head you've ever played?

What is the most frequently recorded drumhead?

I use Pinstripes on the toms, coated ambassador on the snare, powerstroke 3 on the kick.

The worst head? Remo ebonys, evans hydraulics (esp the blue ones), any head that people get just for the LOOKS even thought they sound terrible.

Most frequently recorded? Well, Im not sure on that, but Ive seen alot of pinstripes...

G2's on top of toms, G1's on bottom. Power center on snare. I use the same heads as my favorite drummer, Danny Carey. Worst heads? The ones that came with my Titan drum set :-\

Snare - Evans vented (Remo coated Ambassador in a pinch)
Toms - G2 on top G1 on bottom (Remo Pinstripes in a pinch)
Kick - Evans Emad -or - EQ series - or - Aquarian Super Kick

There are too many great drummers to name a favorite - or to follw what they use.

Worst heads - any factory included head on any low/mid priced kit

Most recorded - that's anybody's guess, but I would guess Remo Coated Ambassadors and Remo Pinstripes

1. Remo Pinstripes (coated on the snare)

2. Don't know, really. Is that bad?

3. The stock heads that came with my Gretsch kit

4. I refuse to answer because it has nothing to do with me!

I think we're seeing a trend here with stock heads!

Keep going everyone!

I'm actually thinking of switching to G1's on top for the toms.

I use Pinstripes all the way around for Batter heads.
I have Clear Ambassadors for the resonant heads of the toms.

On the Kicks I have Fibreskyn 3's on the Resonant side, without a hole in them and an Evans Gate Pillow in each kick.

And I have a Remo diplomat/snareside underneath the snare.

I just like the Pinstripes because they can take a lot of abuse, plus I'm using Larger drums and tune them a little higher in pitch, so I don't have to worry about muffling my toms or snare.

And I use Vic Firth's Jeff Queen Signature Durmcorps model marching stick on the kit.

I have no idea what my favorite Drummer uses. Scott Columbus (from Manowar) used to use Ebony Ambassadors on the tops and bottoms of the kit with Ebony Pinstripes on the batter side of the kicks, but I don't know what he's using these days.
