Anyone play Counter Strike with the E-MU 1820?

yes,

just insert a "Send Wav L/R" on your mic input that your using and the mic will work for in-game voice, which is what I assume you're getting at here.

No, I am not concerned at all about in game voice.

The one and only thing I am interested in is finding out whether the 1820, using the headphone out, will give me accurate indications of:

left/ right
up/ down
front/ back

I am guessing that music mixed in stereo can fill any of these "directions"...so I was hoping that sounds made by other players in the "3D" space of a "map" would be accurately reflected in my headphone cans

My SB live! gives me great directional reference via the stereo headphone out...I wondered whether the 1820 would do the same.

Should work just as well I'd think. Mainly in games I rotate around while listening to the sound to get a better feel of where it's coming from.
