yes,
just insert a "Send Wav L/R" on your mic input that your using and the mic will work for in-game voice, which is what I assume you're getting at here. |

No, I am not concerned at all about in game voice.
The one and only thing I am interested in is finding out whether the 1820, using the headphone out, will give me accurate indications of: left/ right up/ down front/ back I am guessing that music mixed in stereo can fill any of these "directions"...so I was hoping that sounds made by other players in the "3D" space of a "map" would be accurately reflected in my headphone cans My SB live! gives me great directional reference via the stereo headphone out...I wondered whether the 1820 would do the same. |

Should work just as well I'd think. Mainly in games I rotate around while listening to the sound to get a better feel of where it's coming from.
