Best Mixer/Daw Controller

I need to record a band requiring about 14-16 inputs....

I am shopping around for a mixer that can double as a DAW controller and also with a firewire interface that will not require me to buy an additional 16-channel interface.

I will be shooting for the $1500-$3000 price range - So far I have the following:

-Mackie Onyx 1640 w/ firewire interface (but no DAW control!)
-Tascam DM3200 (The motherload! DAW control and 32 simultaneous inputs/16XLR...also at the TOP of my price range!)

Anyone have any input? Also, I plan on using the mixers preamps to record/overdub vocals (using $500-$1000 mics)? Anyone have any suggestions on which mixer preamps to go with? I have a Blue Baby Bottle and a KMS 105 mic.
