Tascam 38 & dbx
Which model of dbx unit is supposed to work with a Tascam 38?
Thanks. |

They are dbx type I units and I think they are specially made for the 38. They have these "cascade" cables that connect from the 38 and the two 4-channel dbx units.

I can check it out when I get home. I have a 38 with the dbx units.

Thanks,I'd appreciate that.
A bit of websurfing makes me think it is probably a dbx DX-4D. |

DX-4D is the model number. They are 4-channel units, so you need two of them.

Yup, DX-40 is it. They're actually made by TASCAM. I guess it's time to check eBay. I might possibly be tempted to sell mine, but don't count on it.
FWIW, this NR works really well, but if you've got a good front-end and the machine is calibrated correctly, the 38 isn't really all that noisy.

I find the same thing. I can barely notice the noise difference on mine with it on or off. Lately I've been recording without it. |

If you go here and type in dx-4d or tascam for a search they have a couple at a good price. I have delt with them before with no problems.
