Mic And monitors / headphones

Have looked in mic section but cannot see a specific answer i'm looking for.
Basically What mic is the best to get for home recording Vocals only ??

I need one thats quite cheap as am on ,ow budget. I am using a Peavy PV i at the moment.

Also Would a decent set of headphones do instead on monitors ??

If so wjat should I look for ( Make, model) or If not what monitors are on the cheap side ??

vocal mic...shure sm57 or 58
headphones...sennheiser HD497 ( are what I use, they are nice )
not sure about monitors. They are too expensive for me.
