Samson C-Contol Matrix Yippee!

Just wanted to say I got my new Samson C-Contol Matrix this afternoon.
Yippee!
I've been waiting awhile to get it so I'm excited.
Review to follow.

Yo, thane1200, get that thing hooked up and use it for a couple of weeks, then give us that review. I've been eying these 'cause I can't afford a Central Station or Big Knob.

A Review would be great

Hey there Thane,

A review would be great. I can't afford a Central Station or Big Knob either so I was looking at the Samson unit and the Presonus HP4.

The Samson unit is more feature rich, but I read a few user reviews that said the C-Control introduced some nasty mud to the monitoring chain. The reviews could be complete BS so some clarification would be appreciated.

Can anyone provide hands on input about the Presonus HP4?

I was using an HP4 before upgrading to a Central Station. IMHO, the HP4 does fine for the average home recorder. As a straight signal pass through, the Central Station does offer a higher degree of transparency. And, it has additional routing and hookup features.
It would depend on your budget and how much you were able to spend on the rest of your signal chain. If you have budget studio monitors and/or headphones, you may or may not hear the improvements the Central Station offers.

Ok guyz, here it is!

I've had a chance to use it a bit now, and can say that I really like it. It and has enough inputs (4) and outputs (3), also has the ability to switch between 3 sets of monitors. The headphone amp is clean and powerful, in fact the entire unit seems to be (clean that is).

The one downside ios that you can only listen to one set of monitor outs at a time.

Have'nt had a chance to use the talk-back feature yet, but I can only ass.u.me that it holds up to the quality of the rest of the unit.

For $99.00, I would definately reccomend this for the budget conscious(SP?) person in need of a monitor switching device.

Thane gives it 8.5 out of 10
