Question Pg52

hi!

Does anyone know if the shure pg52 is a good mic for recording bass dums?

is the quality very different from the beta 52?

Yes - very different... the PG line is nothing like the regular or beta series.

PGs are the low end models of the Shure brand. If you are on a budget, then go ahead buy some. Yet, if I were you, I'd save my pennies at get myself a good mic to start off with.

I have one and would only recommend it for recording bass guitar, its great for that, but for bass drum there are a ton of better mics out there.

If you don't like the B-52 go with the D112.
