Homemade stands/clips?

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone ever made some stands or rim clips to hold the mics? I've received everything but forgot to order mic stands.. Should I just go out and buy some? or are there ways to get around this? I won't be gigging just recording so I don't think it has to be crazy sturdy..

Thanks
John

These work out to just under $10 each.

Probably not what your lookin for but...
my brother made a mic stand for his guitar out of a plunger, a toilet paper roll and duct tape. LOL!
The height was good and it worked fine but it was sure goofy lookin.

Although I prefer to use equipment that presents more of a professional image - I have very creative uses of various electrical & plumming supplies, such as various clamps, PVC piping, etc.

While I don't have any drawings etc. - some basic low cost materials, a few basic tools and some creative thought can go a long way.
