i have a rancher
I have not played that model (yet) but i have a Gretsch 6012 that was made in Japan. the japan build Gretsch guitars are very nice and the tone of mine it very nice. i would say that it was rather tight and not much bass when i first got it but over about 4 months it really got more bass and not so tight and muted sounding. the neck is pretty nice on all the Gretsch guitars and the action is pretty good because of that. in studio my guitar has doen very well in almost any mic placement i have put it into.
