Mmmmm like what Soonie G said: It does not sound too hard, it is an old school guitar sound, good though.

So how did they do it? Did they use a Pod? Well I think it is just a cab. miked up and the distortion is mild. I believe they used single coils, but yes the sound is huge but really clear. Sounds a lot like Igwnie and Vai's early days sound. The type of amp could be a Marshall, or at least it sounds like Marshall to my ears.

Listening to the clean guitars in the second section makes me think they used single coils, but then I could be mistaken by the mix, the second guitar in the clean part could be a humbuck.

Anyway it is a great sound, just a pitty of those "vocals" but that may be just me eh

Eddie
