Pickup Manufacturers
Question: Is there really a big difference in quality of pickups sold by major pickup manufacturers, such as Dimarzio and SD, and the smaller manufacturers? Supposing that the skill level and quality of parts is equal, what would be the difference?

I think materials used and number of windings in the coil, but don't quote me on that. I know there's a big change in sound when you swap out the cheapo pups on a cheapo guitar with a different brand, but I'm not totally sure about what it is that's making the difference.

Bill Lawrence. The absolute best, and nicely priced too.
