Anyone know how to get this sound?

Here's a sample from a song (zip format). I am not sure how to get an acoustic guitar to sound like this. My guess so far is some sort of chorus effect, possibly nylon strings also? What do you guys think... THanks. -P

It sounds like it's washed in reverb and there is a slapback delay on it...

Or:

"Learn how to type sometime, OK? At least learn how to properly use the backspace key."

Since we're on that subject.

I think I hear your "slapback" echo suggestion. Would it be timed at about 200ms, so the repeat would hit on the "e" of 1e&a2? Also, does this sound like a classical guitar to you guys?

no, definately steel-string acoustic -- not miced real close. and I think there is some sort of detuning on it too, maybe a flanger.

re:

I think I know the main factor, it was mic'd! I don't know why I've always recorded acoustic directly via jack, I just assumed it would be clearer and sound better, wrong. The microphone picks up so much more, the true representation of how the guitar sounds, not just how the strings or pickup sound. Someone showed me a recording and the guitar sounded very similar to this clip, so I asked him how he did it, and he said he just recorded it with a mic.

So because you didn't think very much of it, it is not good?
I think you need to keep in mind that music is art, and therefore VERY subjective.

p.s.
It sounds alot like the smashing pumpkins accoustic guitar tone to me, and the last time I checked a lot of people thought THAT sounded good. According to RIAA's website, about 18.3 million people to be exact.
