free/good/easy synth software "emulator" that can be used with cool edit pro 2.1.tanx

hello everyone..

i dont even know if this exists but what the heck...

i dont own a synth but i need one to give ambience to some acoustic songs..i would really like to know if anyone can recomend a good, free!, and easy to use software than can be used in conjunction with cool edit pro 2.1.

I am reasonably certain that you cannot add soft-synths to CEP or the newer Audition (which replaced CEP) CEP is primarily audio software which has a built in two track editor and a multi-track. You can use effects plug ins, (three types, native Adobe, DX or VST) but not synths. Numerous other software packages have the ability to add synths.... Sonar (which I use), Cubase, Trakion, Ableton Live, Acid etc. etc.

I downloaded a couple vst synths, and I am not sure if vst works with your program, but here are the free synths that I have found. Check out the second website, there is all kinds of stuff there.

crystal softsynth

I'm sure there are many others, try googling free softsyth or something like that

diogo, you can always use any number of freeware VST hosts/sequencers (available at KVR), to record your synth parts, which could than be imported into CEP as an audio file.
