Hi all,
I'm about to buy a Tascam 688 midistudio, but since I am extremely impatient, I was wondering if anyone could give me a list of its specifications. I have some idea of what it has to offer, but if anyone has a list, I'd appreciate it. Isaiah

Heh! Well you might wanna check the ebay ads for the 688, usually they have lots of specs in there. I can tell you now it has a 20 input mixer, records 8 tracks at once, 2 effect sends, 4 returns, does 3 1/2 ips (or is it 1/4?), has DBX, that digital meter bridge...

Well, at any rate, it's gonna be a killer machine. Sort of outdated, but it's got a beautiful mixer.

Yeah, no doubt...it was the top of the line cassette 8 track when it came out...I hope it's as good as I expect. I hear it's just VERY technical and advanced...it takes a lot of reading and playing around to get it.

I wouldn't doubt it. That thing's got a zillion pots, buttons, faders & whatnot. I've seen pictures of it. I really like the fact that it can record 8 tracks at once, and that it has individual track outputs.
