where do i point my shit?

i got the oktave mk-319 recently and i need to know where to poiint it for hip-hop voacls. how far awy do i stand?, close to wall?, not sure vocals coming out sounding flat and shit. any suggestions would help. thanks

you make sure you point the front to the front, buy a popscreen, and put/screw/bend it so that it's about 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) from the mic. This helps you to keep your distace but will still sound in-your-face.

You do know it's a side-address microphone? You "sing" into to grille from the side that's got the MK-319 printed on it, not the side that has the switches. Start about a foot away, and move closer or farther away depending on how it sounds. Stay away from walls - might get unwanted reflections.
